Ghana Post has officially launched “SKOOLBOX,” a new delivery and logistics service designed to relieve parents and students of the stress and physical burden of transporting personal belongings and heavy wooden trunks (chop boxes) to secondary schools across the country.
The new initiative was unveiled during a ceremony attended by representatives from the Trades Union Congress (TUC), government institutions, partner organisations, management and staff of Ghana Post, headteachers, and students.
Speaking at the launch, the featured official reflected on personal memories of school days traveling between Kumasi, St. Monica’s Senior High School in Mampong, and Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast. She highlighted the timeless struggle students face carrying heavy trunks before academic work even begins, alongside the modern challenges parents face with limited space in schools requiring items to be sent in batches.
“Education is a journey of promise, but every journey has its practical burdens,” she stated. “Making life better begins with recognizing an ordinary difficulty and finding a thoughtful way to ease it. SKOOLBOX offers an opportunity to make that experience of going to school more convenient, reliable, and manageable.”
The launch of SKOOLBOX forms part of a broader organizational transformation at Ghana Post, which includes expanding capabilities in last-mile delivery, agency banking, logistics, and insurance.
Management emphasized that the initiative aligns directly with the national agenda driven by the President and the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation to leverage digital technology, skills development, and practical innovation for national economic growth.
“Digital transformation must not remain an idea confined to policy documents or technology platforms. Its real measure is whether it brings greater convenience, opens opportunities, and improves the quality of service available to ordinary citizens,” the speaker added.
While the full operational details and step-by-step features of the service will be rolled out progressively, Ghana Post emphasized that the ultimate success of SKOOLBOX will depend on user trust, continuous learning, and active feedback from students, parents, and school administrations.
Closing the event, the official expressed gratitude to the Board, Management, staff, and partners of Ghana Post before officially declaring the Ghana Post SKOOLBOX Service unveiled.
“Sometimes, progress begins by helping a child carry a little less, so that she can arrive with more energy for the journey ahead,” she concluded. “When we make the journey to school easier, we create more room for the journey of learning.”
