The Universal Wonderful Street Academy (UWSA) has successfully completed a six-day intensive healthcare mission, providing free medical treatment and essential equipment to over 10,000 residents in Jamestown and Ningo.

Led by Founder Nii Kwanchi and a dedicated team of medical doctors and volunteers from Germany, the initiative directly addressed the urgent healthcare needs of Ghana’s most vulnerable populations. The mission concluded with the distribution of more than 10,000 pieces of medical supplies, ranging from lifesaving medications to mobility aids.

The campaign kicked off in Jamestown with a primary focus on the next generation. The first day was dedicated exclusively to school children, where German medical experts conducted pediatric screenings and provided immediate treatment for various ailments.

As the program opened to the general public, the academy transformed the local premises into a full-scale clinic. The impact was immediate and life-changing:

• Mobility Restoration: Patients with physical disabilities were fitted with wheelchairs and walking sticks.

• Vision Correction: Hundreds received eye examinations and were provided with medicated spectacles on the spot.

• Critical Care: Medical staff administered IV drips and specialized treatments for those in acute distress, following rigorous safety protocols.

Following the success in Jamestown, the team traveled to the coastal community of Ningo. Located far from the medical resources of the capital’s central district, the residents of Ningo, from newborns to the elderly faced significant barriers to basic care.

The demand in Ningo was so high that the team worked far beyond their scheduled hours. In a final push to ensure no patient was left behind, Nii Kwanchi and the medical delegation worked through the night, providing consultations and medication by lamplight until every person in line had been served.
