“By their fruits you shall know them.” Matthew 7:20.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, even while in opposition, has once again placed Ghana on the world’s pedestal, following his recognition as the Most Peaceful and Tolerant African Leader, an honour that affirms Ghanaian values on the global stage. He is eminently deserving of the Order of the Sun Award conferred upon him. His consistent commitment to tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and respectful engagement across religious and cultural lines distinguishes him as one of Africa’s most peace-loving leaders. This recognition by The African Development Awards one of the world’s most respected award institutions is both timely and well-earned.
Indeed, Christian counsellors and educators alike would affirm that Venerable Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia exemplifies the fruits of the Holy Spirit, manifesting in both public service and personal conduct. The test remains unchanged: “By their fruits you shall know them.” Matthew 7:20. Not their Tribe, Religion, Education or Politics but moral vocation of Character Tested Under Fire Like Gold.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is perhaps the most used yet abused, the most hated yet restrained, the most cheated yet dignified, and the most rejected yet steadfast politician the Ghana has produced in recent times. And yet, through it all, he remains blameless and unblemished. That’s not all, also the gravest injuries inflicted upon Dr. Bawumia and his family came not merely from political rivals but from religious figures: prophets, pastors, and self-styled men of God, who publicly lied, accused, condemned, and castigated them. Only a christ-like anointing enables a person to survive the assault of religious spirits, the same spirit that animated the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Sanhedrin.
Only a fool within the NPP would claim that the Bawumias are strangers to the party, and only the reckless would describe the Bawumias as foreigners in Ghana. Their roots, sacrifices, and service are evident. They have been tried, tested, and thoroughly examined, and they have proven themselves politically sound and dependable for the ethical expectations of the party. Thier loyalty to party and country has never wavered.
For the good of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama would do this nation a service by handing over leadership to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. In the political corridor of this country, Dr. Bawumia stands as one of the best-prepared, most disciplined, and most principled leaders available and also one the world sees as African most peaceful and tolerant leader.
