Recent attacks on McDan and his businesses have raised suspicions about the motives of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), especially given his long history of loyalty to the company.
For the past 18 years, McDan has been a committed steward of the airport land, choosing to remain loyal to GACL instead of transferring his tenancy to others. While other tenants sought title deeds from the Lands Commission, he stayed true to GACL, paying for security to protect the land for over 12 years.
However, GACL has recently turned against him, imposing harsh penalties despite McDan facing four ongoing legal issues that the company is aware of. This sudden aggression raises questions: Why has this ruling suddenly become news? Why is there such heightened interest in anything related to McDan?
The timing is suspicious, especially as McDan has worked hard to develop the land, negotiating with local allodial owners from La, Teshie, and Nungua. It appears that a powerful individual with an interest in the land has emerged, potentially making McDan a target.
Moreover, where were the politicians and GACL’s management when McDan was fighting to protect the land? Their sudden interest now, as McDan faces significant challenges, raises further concerns about fairness and the possibility of a hidden agenda. As he navigates this difficult situation, it is crucial to uncover the truth behind GACL’s actions and whether there is more to this story than meets the eye.
It is clear that there is an appointee from the current administration who has made it a priority to undermine McDan and his business. Is this the better Ghana we aspire to? Is this the better Ghana we promised to the people?
Why do we, in the name of politics, attempt to stifle Ghanaian business owners who are striving to improve the local economy? Is politics meant to destroy or to enhance a country’s state? Our approach to politics is a source of shame.
Why is there such haste in making news and airing issues about McDan? Could this be a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation? Let’s be honest with ourselves, the controversies stirred around McDan are becoming increasingly transparent, and it’s time for some answers to be demanded.
How can we grow as a nation when those in power seek to dismantle businesses after they have been entrusted with authority? These are the same individuals who encourage the youth to pursue entrepreneurship while simultaneously crushing their dreams.
If this is the direction politicians intend to take the country, then we have a long journey ahead. As McDan navigates this difficult situation, it is crucial to uncover the truth behind GACL’s actions and determine whether there is more to this story than meets the eye.
