By the authority of the Elders and Kingmakers of the Ngleshie Alata Adjumanku Dawurampong Division, and in keeping with the timeless customs bequeathed to us by our ancestors, the following proclamation is hereby issued to all citizens, clans, gates, and families of Ngleshie Alata:
Hear and take due notice:
I. Recognition of Lineage and Right
In accordance with ancestral order, choice and mandate of appointment and the sacred laws of inheritance, the Ngleshie Viscountess, Mrs Alberta Addo, as Naa Affipong IV the acknowledged and true and legitimate Ngleshie Alata Mannye, same as paramount Queenmother of Jamestown
She is a daughter of a noble line, descending from Nii Ahuma Kojo II, the only daughter of Nii Odame-Kojo and sharing royal blood with Nii Adja Kwao.
For as our elders say:
“The river that forgets its source shall run dry.”
Her lineage stands firm as the fountainhead of rightful succession in Ngleshie Alata.
II. Customary Enstoolment
In the sacred year of August 17 2025, after full consultation, rites, and observances, the Elders of the Adjumanku Dawurampong Division lifted her upon the Stool of her forefathers.
This enstoolment was performed in the presence of the custodians of our tradition, and under the silent witness of the ancestors who guard our land.
As the proverb teaches:
“A stool chooses the one whose shadow fits its weight.”
Thus has the Stool of the Ngleshie Alata Mannye chosen Naa Affipong IV.
III. Call to Unity and Loyalty
Let it therefore be proclaimed across Jamestown, Korle, Alata, Akumadzei, and all the lands of Ga Mashie that the Ngleshie Alata State has a mother, a guide, and a custodian.
Let all sons and daughters, both home and abroad, rally behind her leadership.
For “When the chief holds the staff of peace, the people walk in harmony.”
IV. Blessings and Goodwill
We invoke the blessings of the spirits of the land, patriarch, matriarch, and the guardians of the deities, and the wisdom of the elders, that her reign be marked by peace, development, dignity, and the revival of our cherished heritage.
May the light of our ancestors shine upon her.
May her footsteps be steady.
May Ngleshie Alata rise to greatness under her care.
