Nollywood has been plunged into mourning following the reported death of beloved actress Monalisa Stephen.

The sad news was shared by Seun Oloketuyi, the CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON). Monalisa Stephen is said to have passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Lagos, after a courageous battle with low blood sugar and internal bleeding.

Oloketuyi took to Facebook on Wednesday, May 14, to convey the heartbreaking announcement. His post stated, “Brand influencer Monalisa Ayobami Stephen is dead; she died yesterday in Lagos after losing the fight against low sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister confirmed the death of this hardworking and beautiful soul.”

The news has left fans and colleagues alike in shock, as they remember her contributions to the film industry.
