Dr. Daniel McKorley, CEO of McDan Group of Companies, and his wife, Abigail McKorley, recently made a significant impact in the lives of over 6,000 widows in the Greater Accra Region. Through the McDan Foundation’s Widows Support Project, held on March 9 at Mantse Agbonaa in James Town, Accra, these widows received essential health and economic support.
The event, organized in partnership with RIDNE Food Consortium, a Ukrainian food and agriculture company, provided the widows with food items, health screening, and economic empowerment. This initiative is part of the McDan Foundation’s efforts to give back to the community and support vulnerable groups.
Notably, the McDan Foundation has been engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for over 20 years, with a focus on supporting the less privileged. Dr. McKorley emphasized the importance of supporting widows, who are often forgotten in society.
The event also featured a health screening exercise, conducted by medical professionals from VIVA Health and Medical Foundation. The screening covered various health checks, including BMI, malaria testing, and blood pressure monitoring.
