Local Businesses to Thrive with 24-Hour Economy – Julius Debrah

Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has reiterated the government’s unrelenting commitment to implementing a 24-hour economy, a visionary initiative designed to eradicate impediments hindering the growth of local businesses and create a fertile ground for Ghanaian enterprises to thrive.

Addressing the gathering on the second day of the prestigious This Is Ghana Exhibition in Accra on September 7, 2025, Mr. Debrah underscored the policy’s potential to unlock new opportunities, streamline operations, and empower businesses to reach unprecedented heights. Highlighting the pivotal role of key state institutions, including the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Exim Bank, and the Ghana Enterprises Agency, Mr. Debrah lauded their concerted efforts in providing robust support to local businesses, thereby underscoring the government’s resolve to broaden access to finance and equip Ghanaian enterprises with the necessary tools to compete effectively on the global stage.

In a fervent appeal to Ghanaians, Mr. Debrah urged citizens to prioritize indigenous products, emphasizing that patronizing local goods would not only fortify industries but also generate employment opportunities, thereby injecting new vitality into the nation’s economic fabric.

“You are not merely showcasing products; you are showcasing Ghana’s future,” he declared. “With unwavering persistence, Inflexible quality, and innovative zeal, Ghana can ascend to its rightful pedestal in the global market,” he told exhibitors.

Furthermore, Mr. Debrah posited that diminishing reliance on foreign goods would yield a direct and salutary impact on national development and job creation, reassuring stakeholders that the government would continue to provide an enabling environment conducive to business growth.

The success of local enterprises, he noted, is inextricably linked to the nation’s overall prosperity. The This Is Ghana Exhibition has emerged as a veritable platform for businesses to showcase their creative prowess, forge meaningful connections with consumers, and attract potential investors, featuring an impressive array of products and services that showcase Ghana’s rich entrepreneurial spirit and innovative capabilities.
