Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has voiced his satisfaction with his team’s display in Sunday’s scoreless draw against their longstanding rivals, Asante Kotoko, describing the result as a just reflection of the match despite several missed chances.
In a highly contested encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, both teams struggled to find the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 deadlock. Following the match, Ouattara acknowledged his desire for a victory but expressed contentment with securing a point. “I’ll take the draw. We came to win, but it’s a fair result,” the coach remarked. “I learnt a lot from this game and will discuss it with the boys. What didn’t work was our inability to score.”
Hearts appeared more threatening in the second half, generating multiple opportunities but ultimately failing to capitalize on any. Their lack of finishing prowess allowed Kotoko to depart the capital with a valuable point.
Despite the draw leaving Hearts in sixth place and trailing in the title race, Ouattara remains hopeful about his team’s prospects. “The league will be tough, but we’ll keep fighting — top four, top two, or even the title. We’re not giving up,” he asserted with a sense of determination.
Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak are focused on their upcoming fixtures, eager to build on their performance and ascend the league standings.
