Ghanaians Will Not Pardon Mahama if He Neglects to Prosecute Corrupt Officials – Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asserted that President Mahama will face public outrage if he does not take action against former officials of the Akufo-Addo administration found guilty of embezzling state funds.

In a recent interview on TV3’s Hot Issues aired on Sunday, May 4, Dr. Tamakloe expressed his astonishment regarding the serious allegations against Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director General of the National Signals Bureau. Adu-Boahene, along with his spouse and two others, has been charged with a total of ten offenses, which include theft, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering. The accusations allege that Adu-Boahene misappropriated approximately GH¢49,100,000.00 under the guise of acquiring a cyber defense system for Ghana.

Dr. Tamakloe emphasized that all those found guilty of misappropriating public funds must face justice. “The current administration seems more focused on personal gain than the nation’s development. Their primary goal appears to be stealing and accumulating wealth,” he remarked.

He continued, “Just look at Adu-Boahene and the serious charges against him. It’s hard to believe. The cunning methods they employed to siphon off money were clearly intended to evade detection.”

The seasoned politician warned, “I have cautioned President Mahama that if he fails to prosecute these individuals who have embezzled state funds, he will not be forgiven by the people.”

In a related development, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe is set to launch a new book in celebration of his birthday on May 7, 2025, at Christ The King near the Jubilee House at 3 PM.

Meanwhile, the Accra High Court has ordered that Adu-Boahene be held in custody by the Economic and Organized Crime Office for a period of seven working days. This measure is intended to allow the Attorney-General to finalize the preparation of witness statements for the state’s case.
