Bastian Dieti of Obroni Cycling Team has taken the cycling world by storm, securing a solo victory in Stage 2 of the 2025 Tour du Ghana. The 24-year-old German rider powered through the 80km road race from Ho to Fume, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 2:06:57.
Dieti’s decisive attack in the closing kilometers left the peloton in his dust, with Tom Wyfve of the Netherlands and Soumaila Ilboudo of Burkina Faso battling it out for second and third places. Wyfve narrowly edged out Ilboudo, finishing 2:09:05, just three seconds ahead of Ilboudo.
This victory marks Dieti’s first major win of the 2025 Tour du Ghana, and he now leads the pack heading into Wednesday’s stage. The Obroni Cycling Team rider credited the enthusiastic local fans for fueling his solo effort.
