Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has been hauled to court by Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) over alleged defamatory statements. SML is demanding a staggering GH¢21 million in damages.The lawsuit centres on Manasseh’s book, “The President Ghana Never Got”, specifically Chapter 28, which SML claims contains false and damaging information. According to the court documents, Manasseh’s assertions have severely harmed SML’s reputation, causing significant financial losses and damage to its business interests.

SML maintains that Manasseh’s statements were made with the intention of destroying its reputation and have led to public ridicule and the loss of potential business opportunities. This is not the first time SML has taken legal action against Manasseh, having previously sued him and the Fourth Estate over a documentary that made similar allegations.
