A gruesome and devastating attack has left at least 70 Christians dead, beheaded by militants from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in a Protestant church in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s North Kivu Province.
The ADF, an Islamist terrorist group linked to the Islamic State (ISIS), carried out the brutal assault, targeting women, children, and the elderly. According to reports from local civil society Radio Okapi, the victims were beheaded with machetes, and their hands were tied behind their backs.
The ADF, originally from Uganda, has been wreaking havoc in the eastern DRC, particularly in North Kivu.
