I am an ardent supporter of Hon. Kennedy Agyepong, but I cannot understand why he and Hon. Bryan Acheampong continue to make Dr. Bawumia the scapegoat for the political sins of President Akufo-Addo. Why should Bawumia be blamed for decisions he did not take? The truth is simple: these two political self-seekers have benefitted more than anyone else under this government. Were they not part of the previous administration? How then do they suddenly turn against him, as though delegates are blind or stupid? I hate pretentions and hypocrisy, they are products of self seeking.

Kennedy Agyepong and Bryan Acheampong are quick to boast about their immense financial contributions to the Npp party, but they never disclose what the Npp party has done for them in return. Meanwhile, Bawumia, with all his religious persuasion, demonstrates a Christ-like character—far more than some, who now parade as Christians yet lack every true virtue of Christianity.

The NPP, including all its presidential aspirants, owes Dr. Bawumia an apology. He has been used, abused, cheated, and unfairly hated. Now that you want to abandon him, let it be known that: position does not change character. Kennedy Agyepong must stop pretending, for in due time his true colors will show. When it comes to moral values, ethical responsibility, character formation, and Christian virtues, Alhaji Dr. Bawumia stands far taller than all of them.

Let us not forget: if financial contributions to politics are to be equated with bribery and corruption, then President Akufo-Addo himself is the mother of corruption, and the NPP party the father of corruption. Never in our history has any politician received more financial support than Akufo-Addo, yet when he attained power, he turned state resources into a family inheritance, sharing lucrative public institutions among his relatives.

I speak as a real journalist, not a pseudo one. I demand that the NPP and its leadership apologize to one of the most innocent, sincere, honest, and committed politicians Ghana has ever known—Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia.

Yes, Kennedy Agyepong loves money and he gives back, but only because he gains from society and the party. Many of you who hold small CEO positions squander public resources on boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses, and relatives, forgetting the true patriots who fought alongside you. Kennedy may be better than most of you—but make no mistake, BAWUMIA STANDS TALL in character, maturity, intellect, personality, spirit, style, and political vision. He is a shining star in Ghanaian politics. Apologize for using him, undermining him, and refusing to listen to him.
