In response to Apple executive Eddy Cue’s audacious forecast that iPhones could become a thing of the past within the next decade, Musk succinctly replied: “@Neuralink.” This refers to his brain-computer interface venture, which aims to establish a direct link between human cognition and technology.

Cue made his original statement during his testimony at the ongoing antitrust trial against Google, held by the U.S. Department of Justice. He remarked, “You may not need an iPhone 10 years from now, as crazy as it sounds,” emphasizing that advancements in artificial intelligence are catalyzing a significant transformation in technology, paving the way for innovative devices and potential rivals to Apple.

Musk’s comment indicates that he views Neuralink as a potential contender in this evolving landscape. The company is working on a brain chip that could theoretically enable individuals to engage with technology merely through thought, rendering smartphones, screens, and keyboards obsolete.
