In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, COCOBOD described the flyer as “entirely misleading” and urged stakeholders and the general public to disregard the misinformation.
The flyer alleged that the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, declared that cocoa farmers would be paid 70 percent of the world market price. However, COCOBOD emphasized that any changes to cocoa prices will be communicated through official channels.
Cocoa pricing remains a sensitive issue in Ghana, with farmers advocating for better prices to reflect rising production costs and declining output.
COCOBOD has warned that the false flyer has caused confusion among farmers and stakeholders, and has reiterated its commitment to transparency and accurate communication.
