Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has entered the fray regarding the controversy surrounding Sammy Gyamfi and Nana Agradaa.
In a recent post on his official Facebook page, Shatta Wale expressed his frustration towards Ghanaians for their criticism of the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, following his charitable actions towards Nana Agradaa.
Shatta Wale asserted that Sammy Gyamfi’s acts of kindness are not a new phenomenon, claiming that the politician has been assisting individuals behind the scenes long before he entered politics. He emphasised that the Sammy Gyamfi he knows has been a supporter of the community for many years, urging Ghanaians to refrain from suggesting that the politician is misusing public funds for personal gain.
He cautioned the public against disparaging the politician over matters they are not fully informed about. Furthermore, Shatta Wale hinted at going live soon to address Ghanaians more directly regarding their unfounded attacks on Sammy Gyamfi’s reputation.
He stated, “Do you all know when Sammy Gyamfi started helping the streets? All of you should shut up and leave the young man alone if you don’t know about someone’s humble beginnings. We like tarnishing people’s image too much. Coming live soon, you all.”
In related news, Sammy Gyamfi has issued a public apology to Ghanaians for his recent actions. In a detailed statement shared with Ghana Celebrities, he remarked, “I sincerely thought that I was doing this act of kindness in private and never imagined that it could find its way into the public domain. That is unfortunate and regrettable.”
He further acknowledged the backlash, saying, “I must say that I understand the uproar that this gesture has generated, particularly from comrades who are sincerely hurt by it. To all such comrades, I AM SINCERELY SORRY for this unfortunate act of indiscretion. I respect and appreciate your views.”
