Sammy Gyamfi Refutes Rumours Of Him Spending GHS 173,940 on Office Furniture

Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), has categorically refuted claims that he spent GHS 173,940 on office furniture and renovations. In a Facebook post dated February 15, 2025, he labeled the allegations as “completely false,” asserting that he has not replaced any items in his office since taking on the role. Gyamfi stated that the reports circulating on social media regarding expenditures on office furnishings, including a chair, desk, and refrigerator, are baseless. “All the items in my office, including the chair, desk, fridge, etc., were already present before I assumed office. Not even the A4 sheets or pens on my desk have been changed,” he clarified.

Gyamfi accused members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of spreading misinformation in the wake of their electoral defeat. He urged the public to be wary of what he referred to as “fake news” and to verify information before accepting it as fact.

In his statement, he called on Ghanaians to critically assess the information shared by NPP communicators and social media users to avoid being misled by deliberate disinformation.

Additionally, Gyamfi announced that he has instructed his legal team to pursue action against media outlets and individuals responsible for disseminating these false claims. He expressed his determination to ensure that such intentional falsehoods do not go unchallenged.

This denial comes amid increasing scrutiny of Gyamfi’s appointment as Acting Managing Director of PMMC, with some critics questioning his qualifications for the position. Despite the criticism, Gyamfi remains committed to his duties and aims to ensure the effective operation of the PMMC.
