PRESS RELEASE; BY DR. HASSAN AYARIGA ON ATTEMPTS BY A NIGERIAN CITIZEN TO ESTABLISH A KINGDOM IN GHANA

8th July. 2025

Fellow Ghanaians,

Members of the Media,

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

I address you this day with a heavy heart and a deep sense of duty and patriotism.

It has come to my attention that a Nigerian national, reportedly of Igbo descent, has acquired over fifty (50) acres of land within the territory of Ghana, with the aim of establishing his own kingdom on our sovereign soil. This development is not only alarming, but it is also a direct threat to the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Ghana.

I wish to state, in no uncertain terms, that this act is illegal, unacceptable, and must not be condoned by any responsible government. The Republic of Ghana is a sovereign nation governed by laws not a playground for foreign nationals to pursue personal empires at the expense of our people’s security and dignity.

At a time when the youth of Ghana are suffering struggling to find jobs, and unable to afford basic accommodation, it is deeply offensive and insensitive to allow a foreign individual to acquire vast tracts of land and attempt to build a “kingdom” within our jurisdiction.

I, Dr. Hassan Ayariga, cannot and will not sit down quietly while such a dangerous precedent is set. Our hospitality as a people must not be mistaken for weakness or foolishness. We welcome investors, partners, and friends from all nations, but we will not allow any individual, regardless of nationality, to undermine our state institutions, our culture, or our sovereignty.

In light of this serious situation, I hereby demand the following:

1. Immediate investigation by the National Security and relevant authorities into the land acquisition and all individuals involved in facilitating this agenda.

2. Revocation of all land documents and permits issued for the purpose of building a so called kingdom.

3. Arrest and prosecution of the said Nigerian citizen and any accomplices found to be acting in violation of Ghana’s laws.

4. A public statement and accountability from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, and the Lands Commission, regarding how such a transaction was permitted.

5. A firm policy directive from government to prevent the unauthorized establishment of chieftaincies or kingdoms by foreign nationals in Ghana.

Let me remind all who are listening and reading, Ghana is not for sale. Our freedom is not negotiable. Our people deserve better.

If we allow this to go unchecked, we risk creating a lawless future where foreign interests override the rights of our own citizens. I call on all well meaning Ghanaians to speak up, rise up, and defend our land and our nation.

This is our country. We will protect it.

Thank you.

………Signed……….

Dr. Hassan Ayariga

Presidential Candidate / Founder of All People’s Congress (APC)
