President Mahama to open National Economic Dialogue today

The President John Dramani Mahama will today, March 3, open the highly anticipated National Economic Dialogue (NED) at the Accra International Conference Centre.

This two-day forum would seek to address Ghana’s most pressing economic challenges and pave the way for sustainable growth.Under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together,” the President Mahama will deliver a keynote address outlining his administration’s vision for revitalising the economy.

The dialogue underscores his commitment to fostering inclusive discussions on economic policies and reforms, ensuring that all key stakeholders have a voice in shaping the nation’s financial future.

The forum will bring together a broad spectrum of participants, including private sector representatives, academics, public policy institutions, and civil society organizations. Their discussions will focus on thematic sessions addressing critical areas such as, Achieving Sustainable Macroeconomic Stability, Promoting Economic Transformation and Advancing Infrastructure Development.

Other areas include, Implementing Structural Reforms, Ensuring Private Sector-Led Growth and Restoring Good Governance and Combating Corruption.

Given the current economic crisis in Ghana, the government is optimistic that the dialogue will foster consensus-driven solutions to restore business confidence, improve infrastructure, and enhance livelihoods.

The outcomes of the dialogue are expected to provide a clear roadmap for policy implementation, guiding decisions that promote resilience and long-term growth. Stakeholders will work together to establish concrete commitments and milestones to reset the economy and drive transformative change.
