President Mahama to establish fund for dependents of helicopter crash victims

President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to establish a dedicated fund to support the education of children whose parents lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash.

Speaking ahead of the state funeral scheduled for Friday, August 15, the President emphasised that the fund aims to ensure the victims’ children, some still in school and others as young as two months are not disadvantaged by the tragic loss of their parents.

Describing the crash as a profound national tragedy, President Mahama noted that the deceased were in the prime of their lives and had been instrumental in driving the government’s development agenda.

He said the most meaningful way to honour their legacy is to continue and complete the projects they passionately championed.

The President added that full details of the education fund would be announced during the funeral, allowing individuals and organizations the opportunity to contribute towards securing a brighter future for the children left behind.
