Power Energy Ghana and BUILDEXPO explore opportunities in the energy sector

The 4th edition of the Power Energy Ghana in partnership with Build Expo brought together innovators, industry players, entrepreneurs, policy makers, exhibitors, stakeholders among others to engage in business and investments opportunities in Accra.

The primary purpose of the 2-day event which kick started from in Accra was to facilitate business to business, partnerships and explore trade potentials in energy, electrical and the construction sectors in Ghana and West Africa. 

It was organized by Synergice Events and the Ministry of Trade and Industry with support from other related institutions with some international participating exhibitors were the United Kingdom, United States of America (USA), Nigeria, Egypt, India, and France. 

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition Mr. John Abdullai Ginapor represented by his deputy Mr. Richard Gyan-Mensah said government have adequately resource the ministry to enable it embark on reforms in the power sector value chain as part of the effort to bring to bear efficiency in the energy sector.

“Government is committed to invest in the power sector to help drive a sustainable energy to boost industrial growth and national development,” he said, adding that the energy sector will be well developed and be sustained to help drive the economy. 

According to him, Ghana has taken pragmatic steps and have designed a comprehensive framework for power generation projects to bring transparency in the awards of contracts and urged participants to take advantage of the enormous potentials and the opportunities to support government in resetting the economy. 

For his part, the President of GUTA, Dr. Joseph Obeng called on government to adequately participate in international trade fairs in partnership with the private sector to showcase the country’s power products to seek investments and partnerships. 

He added that such global fairs will also position Ghana as an industrial and manufacturing hub for exhibitions and commended the organizers of the event to add more innovations to the next edition of the expo. 

The India High Commissioner to Ghana, H.S. Shri Manish Gupta, said his country will continue to support Ghana in nation building particularly the energy sector and commended governments about the ongoing reforms in the sector. 

He therefore urged Ghana and India to engage in partnerships and exchange innovations in the business space to help build a robust economy of both countries to develop technologies.
