Ukraine’s chief army psychiatrist has been arrested on a $1 million corruption charge. The Ukrainian security service alleges that the psychiatrist was involved in illegal enrichment and had amassed significant wealth, including several properties and four luxury BMW cars.
The arrest is part of a broader effort to tackle corruption within the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In a separate case, the former commander of the Ukrainian 155th Brigade was remanded in custody with a bail set at $2.1 million amid ongoing corruption investigations.
These developments highlight the Ukrainian government’s commitment to addressing corruption and ensuring accountability within its institutions.
