Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Presidential Spokesperson, has announced that no additional measures will be taken against Sammy Gyamfi, who has been advised to maintain proper conduct. This statement was made during a press conference held at the Jubilee House in Accra on May 14.
“The acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Mr Sammy Gyamfi, has received a warning, and no further action is anticipated,” he informed reporters.
“In recent days, there have been various discussions surrounding Mr Gyamfi, particularly in relation to a video that surfaced showing his interaction with Agradaa. You may recall that shortly after the incident, Mr Gyamfi publicly apologised and acknowledged the concerns raised by the public.
The day following his apology, the Chief of Staff summoned him to the Presidency to discuss the events that transpired. Mr Gyamfi presented his account of the situation to the Chief of Staff. It is worth noting that President Mahama was out of the country at that time, so he was subsequently briefed on the conversation with Mr Gyamfi. The Presidency recognises Mr Gyamfi’s prompt expression of remorse,” Mr Ofosu concluded.
