NCCE Urges Ablekuma North Constituents to Embrace Official EC Election Results

Kathleen Addy, the Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has urged the residents of Ablekuma North to maintain their composure and accept the official results of the 2024 parliamentary elections once they are announced by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Months after the general elections, Ablekuma North stands as the only constituency without an elected Member of Parliament due to ongoing disputes regarding the election results.

During a press conference held by the Ghana Police Service on Thursday, May 8, 2025, Madam Addy stressed the significance of upholding the democratic process. “In every election, there is a winner and a loser, and I want to urge the people of Ghana, particularly the people of Ablekuma North, to accept the results as declared by the EC,” she remarked.

In addition, Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno emphasized the need for the EC to urgently provide a definitive plan to finalize the protracted collation of parliamentary results for the Ablekuma North Constituency. The IGP cautioned that any further delays in resolving this issue could have serious repercussions for the integrity of Ghana’s democracy.
