The Deputy Majority Leader of the Parliament of Ghana, Hon. Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, led a delegation on behalf of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the NDC, and the Majority Leader to pay a condolence visit to Hon. Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr, Member of Parliament for Agona East, following the sudden demise of her husband, Mr. Bernard Olu Sawyerr.
Key Highlights
The delegation, which included several MPs, District Chief Executives, and Regional Directors of Government Institutions, met with the bereaved family, extended condolences, and demonstrated camaraderie. The Majority Caucus made an undisclosed cash donation to the family to cater for water in line with tradition.
Expressions of Sympathy
The family expressed their deepest gratitude for the visit and the donation, and informed that while there will not be a one-week observance, arrangements for the burial and funeral will be communicated in due course. They welcomed condolence visits from well-wishers.

The leadership of the Majority Caucus used the occasion to console the bereaved family, particularly the widow, and expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to all persons and stakeholders who traveled far and near on an Eid Ul Adha holiday to mourn with the only 4th-term female MP in the Central Region.
