Mahama’s Policies on the Right Track – Bawah Mogtari

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, has voiced her unwavering confidence in the early achievements of the current government, labeling the initial phase as “so far, so great” in a Facebook update on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Mogtari highlighted the increasing approval ratings and President Mahama’s solid electoral victory—garnering 57% of the popular vote—as definitive signs of public endorsement and early advancements within the administration’s first 120 days.

“I have been closely monitoring the approval ratings of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, and like many Ghanaians, I am confident that we are on the right track,” she remarked.

As the administration commemorates a significant milestone in its reform initiatives, Mogtari drew attention to the impending launch of a new Code of Conduct and Ethics, which she described as a crucial step toward rebuilding public trust and boosting accountability in governance.

“Today, President Mahama takes a decisive step forward with the official introduction of the Code of Conduct and Ethics,” she noted.

“This framework will be obligatory for all public office holders, government officials, politically exposed individuals, and their close associates.”

Mogtari underscored that a fundamental aspect of the new Code is the stringent prohibition against political appointees and their associates acquiring state assets, a measure designed to mitigate conflicts of interest and advance ethical governance.

“The policy establishes clear enforcement mechanisms and delineates the scope of this ban to ensure transparency and accountability,” she elaborated.

She concluded by emphasizing that the Code conveys a powerful message: “There is no room for conflicts of interest. Public office is a sacred trust—not a shortcut to personal wealth.”
