FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
APOLOGY PRESSER
Ladies and gentlemen of contemporary media, esteemed members of the GaDaŋme Region and fellow Ghanaians,
I am before you today with a deep sense of humility and remorse. Eight months ago, I was one of the vocal opponents of the appointment of Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo as the Greater Accra Regional Minister.
At that time, I allowed my reservations about her lack of proficiency in the Gã language to overshadow her competence and capabilities. I was wrong to do so, and for that, I am truly sorry.
Today, I want to acknowledge that Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo has proven me wrong. Her leadership and vision for the Greater Accra Region have been impressive, particularly her efforts to demolish unauthorized structures along the wetlands and her unwavering commitment to protecting the environment.
Moreover, her stance on the *”OOOBA-KƐ̃”* issue, despite facing opposition from within her own party, demonstrates her strength and conviction. Her willingness to take a principled position, even when it’s difficult, is a testament to her leadership and integrity.
As I reflect on my earlier opposition to her appointment, I realize that I allowed my own biases and prejudices to cloud my judgment. I should have looked beyond her language proficiency and focused on her qualifications, experience, and character.
To Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, I offer my sincerest apologies for my earlier opposition. I was wrong to doubt your abilities, and I acknowledge that you have proven yourself to be a capable and effective leader.
To the people of the Greater Accra Region, I apologize for any confusion or misinformation I may have caused. I hope that you will join me in acknowledging Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo’s achievements and in supporting her efforts to develop our Region.
Once again, I offer my apologies and my commitment to supporting Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo in her efforts to serve our Region.
Thank you.
Signed,
Legendary Humble Emperor
