
In a dazzling celebration of Ghanaian music, King Promise emerged victorious as the Artiste of the Year at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on Saturday, May 10, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
King Promise triumphed over formidable contenders including King Paluta, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, Kweku Smoke, and Team Eternity. His impressive haul of four awards included Best AfroPop Song, Best Afropop/Afribeats Song, Album/EP of the Year, and the coveted Artiste of the Year title.
Meanwhile, King Paluta celebrated his success with the award for Most Popular Song of the Year for his hit track “Aseda.”
The evening also recognized other talented artists, with awards going to Empress Gifty, Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, Esther Godwyll, Kweku Smoke, KiDi, Team Eternity Ghana, and Tulenkey.
A special highlight of the night was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to gospel artist Yaw Sarpong, honoring his significant contributions to the gospel music scene.
The event kicked off with a captivating performance by Ayisi, followed by Yaw Darling, who was named Unsung Artiste of the Year. The audience was treated to performances from notable artists including Empress Gifty, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Stonebwoy, King Promise, and King Paluta.
