If you dare attempt a third term, guns will talk – NPP’s Yaw Owusu warns Mahama

Yaw Owusu-Swanzy, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s communication team, has issued a strong warning to President John Mahama, urging him to abandon any thoughts of seeking a third term in Ghana.

In an interview on Movement TV, Owusu-Swanzy stated that any such attempt would have serious consequences and could lead to violence.

He emphasized that with unity, the NPP has a stronger chance against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.

Owusu-Swanzy asserted that regardless of whether the NDC chooses Julius Debrah or Johnson Asiedu Nketia as their flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia remains the stronger contender.

He also warned President Mahama against entering the race, suggesting it would disrupt the democratic process.

“Whether it is Julius Debrah or Asiedu Nketia they decide to bring, but if they decide to bring Mahama, guns will speak. It won’t even happen, don’t try John,” he warned.

“We are not cowards; after your two terms, find somewhere and sit,” he added.
