The athletics community in Ghana is shrouded in grief following the passing of Mrs. Emilia Addo (née Hammond), the revered mother of former President of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), George Haldane-Lutterodt. Mrs. Addo peacefully departed on Thursday, July 11, 2025, in Tema, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Mrs. Addo’s impact on her family was profound, and her children, particularly Mr. Lutterodt, benefited greatly from her unwavering support and guidance. Her influence extended beyond her family, as she earned the admiration and respect of the wider Ghanaian sporting community.
