The Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) successfully held the second edition of its Coaches’ Refresher and ICC Level 1 Practical Assessment on August 8-9, 2025, at the Achimota Cricket Grounds. This event, a follow-up to the inaugural edition in November 2024, saw 13 participants—four females and nine males—from Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Central, and Volta regions.The two-day program aimed to enhance the skills of hub coaches who had completed the mandatory ICC online foundation course. It focused on practical knowledge in key areas such as coaching practices, basic bowling objectives, batting fundamentals, fielding basics, wicket-keeping, and effective session planning. The first day featured a refresher session to reinforce coaching guidelines and terminologies, ensuring participants were well-prepared for the practical assessments.All participants were certified upon completion, with the top three performers earning spots in the upcoming ICC Level 1 Coaching Tutor Course, scheduled for August 28-29, 2025, in Ghana, under the International Cricket Council’s auspices.The GCA’s initiative highlights its dedication to fostering coaching excellence and advancing cricket development across the country.
