Gbande: Appointment Of Bawumia’s Former Aide ‘A Bad Decision’

Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has said that calls by party supporters for the revocation of the appointment of a former aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to a position at the Presidency are justified.

Speaking on Face to Face on Channel One TV, Gbande acknowledged the frustration among grassroots members, describing the President’s decision as “unpopular” and “a bad one” from the perspective of the party base.

The appointment, which has not been officially detailed but is reported to involve a former staffer of Dr. Bawumia now serving at the Jubilee House, has sparked discontent among the party’s grassroots, with calls for her removal.

“I think that our party people have under-reacted. And it is so legitimate. But you must also understand where President John Dramani Mahama finds himself.

He noted that President Mahama is attempting to build an inclusive government.
