A significant land dispute in Old Ningo has escalated into a legal battle, as a group of family heads has initiated court proceedings against an individual identified as Asafoatse Nartey-Wayo Akamisa II.
The plaintiffs( NUMO DANIEL TETTEH ADDO and NUMO HENRY TEYE BEDAI) representing various families in the area, claim ownership or rights to a parcel of land currently allegedly controlled or claimed by Asafoatse Nartey-Wayo Akamisa II.
Counsel David Ametofe, who is representing the family heads (the plaintiffs) in the matter, confirmed the ongoing legal action.
Speaking briefly outside the courthouse, Mr. Ametofe stated that the proceedings have been temporarily halted. “The case has been adjourned by the court,” he noted. “We are scheduled to return for the next hearing on February 2, 2026.”
The adjournment allows both parties additional time to prepare their arguments and evidence regarding the title and traditional claims to the land in question.
The outcome of this case is highly anticipated within Old Ningo, as land disputes, particularly those involving traditional titles or customary roles, often have deep-seated social and economic implications for the entire community.
Further updates will be reported as the case unfolds in the new year.
