Joseph Kwesi Armah Agyekum, marked World Environment Day with a symbolic tree planting exercise at the Marine Police Training Centre in Aiyinase. The event was part of H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s broader agenda to promote reforestation, city beautification, and climate resilience.

The initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability and protect the future of generations to come. Hon. Joseph Agyekum encouraged all citizens to join the green Nzema Agenda and advocated for the use of free nursed trees available at Forestry Commission offices in the region.
Call to Action
The Director of the Tarkwa District of the Forestry Commission educated participants on the objectives of the initiative and provided guidance on effective tree planting. Traditional leaders and stakeholders urged citizens to actively participate in the programme.

Students from Bonzo Kaku Senior High School and The Charlotte Dolphyne Technical Institute also participated in the launch and tree planting exercise, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability among the youth.
