Demolition of McDan Warehouses and Showrooms by National Security: A Disheartening Reality Echoing Raymond Archer’s Warnings

The demolition of the warehouses and showrooms, owned by CEO Dr. Daniel McKorley, by the National Security Agency raises serious concerns and reflects the troubling statements made by Raymond Archer. Archer had indicated that he would deal with McDan when the NDC comes to power, and now that the NDC is in power, we are witnessing the consequences of those words. Raymond Archer is using President John Dramani Mahama’s goodwill in a very aggressive and snappish manner to get at the throat of McDan. The President must protect McDan from the intensed aggression of Raymond Archer as he would it is Ibrahim Mahama being jumped on by throat grabbers.

The rationale behind the demolition is questionable at best. Authorities assert that the warehouses and showrooms pose a threat to aircraft due to its height. However, this reasoning falls flat when one considers that the Action Chapel building, located in the same vicinity, is three times taller than McDan’s warehouses and showrooms. If safety is the true concern, then a more coherent and justifiable explanation is needed rather than this apparent double standard.

Moreover, it is worth noting that each of the warehouses being demolished by National Security cost approximately $2.4 million to construct. This destruction not only represents a significant financial loss for the business but also sends a troubling message to other entrepreneurs about the stability and safety of their investments in the country.

This situation is not only disheartening but also indicative of a broader issue within our governance. It appears that personal interests are taking precedence over the welfare of the business community. The government often laments the lack of entrepreneurial spirit among its citizens, yet actions like these drive away potential business leaders and investors.

I urge the central government to intervene and reassess this demolition. The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, must take action to investigate this matter, as failing to uncover the root cause of this demolition could tarnish his administration’s reputation. Targeting the business class for personal agendas is not the way forward for our nation. We need a supportive environment that encourages growth and innovation, not one that fosters fear and uncertainty among entrepreneurs.
