Apology Presser To Hon Mrs Linda Ocloo

Minister of Greater Accra, Mrs Linda Naa Akweley Ocloo

Ladies and gentlemen of the media, esteemed members of the GaDangme Region, and fellow Ghanaians,

I stand before you today with deep humility and sincere remorse. Eight months ago, I was among the vocal opponents of the appointment of Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo as the Greater Accra Regional Minister.

At the time, I allowed my reservations about her proficiency in the Gã language to overshadow her competence and capabilities. That was an error of judgment on my part, and for that, I am truly sorry.

Hon. Ocloo has since proven her worth through remarkable leadership. Her decisive action in demolishing unauthorized structures along the wetlands and her unwavering commitment to environmental protection have been commendable.

Even more, her bold stance on the “Oobake” issue—despite resistance within her own party—has demonstrated her strength, courage, and integrity. She has shown that true leadership is measured not by convenience but by conviction.

As I reflect on my earlier position, I now recognize that I allowed bias and prejudice to cloud my perspective. I should have judged her by her qualifications, vision, and dedication, rather than by language alone.

To Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, I extend my sincerest apologies for doubting your abilities. You have proven yourself to be a capable and transformative leader.

To the people of the Greater Accra Region, I also apologize for any confusion or division my earlier opposition may have caused. I now stand committed to supporting Hon. Ocloo in her efforts to advance the development of our Region.

Once again, I offer both my apologies and my renewed commitment to truth, fairness, and unity.

Thank you.

Signed
Legendary Humble Emperor
