PRESS RELEASE: The Elephant Unity Project Condemns Divisive Statements ..Reaffirms Commitment To Unity, Equality, and Party’s Cohesion

The Elephant Unity Project has noted with deep concern a disturbing statement attributed to the Honourable Member of Parliament for Asante Akim South, Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng, as reported by Joy News on 31st October 2025, in which he described Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as “an outsider and like a slave who was brought in to serve us.”

We find this statement highly offensive, divisive, and a betrayal of the principles upon which the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was built. The NPP has always stood for freedom, justice, inclusivity, and equality of opportunity for all Ghanaians, regardless of ethnic, religious, or regional background.

As patriots, we must be reminded that no one owns this party more than the other. The NPP belongs to every loyal member who believes in and works for the ideals of the Danquah–Busia–Dombo tradition. To describe a sitting Vice President…a man who has served this country and the Party with loyalty and excellence…as an outsider, is not only an insult to his person but an attack on the unity and moral foundation of our great Party.

The Elephant Unity Project therefore calls on all Party members, particularly those aspiring to lead or represent the NPP, to rise above pettiness, tribalism, and bitterness, and to embrace the spirit of unity that will carry the Party forward toward victory in 2028 and beyond.

We cannot afford to let reckless statements divide us at a time when the grassroots are working tirelessly to rebuild confidence and restore cohesion. The NPP’s strength lies in its diversity ..and any attempt to undermine that will be resisted by all true patriots.

The Elephant Unity Project remains steadfast in promoting peace, mutual respect, and brotherhood within the NPP. We urge all members to focus on the bigger goal …a stronger, united Party ready to serve Ghana selflessly and honorably.
