Apostle Dr. Richard Amegbor Buafor & Lady Mrs Rejoice Buafor
“Praise the Lord, Family! Forty-one years ago we said, ‘I do,’ and with Jesus, there have been no regrets. Through joys and tears, love, faith, and hope, His grace has brought us this far. Join us in thanking the Lord.” — Apostle Dr. Richard Amegbor Buafor, Ph.D.
To my most powerful Reverend Richard Amegbor Buafor and my beautiful Lady Rejoice Buafor: your 41-year partnership in peaceful marriage and perfect ministry stands as a profound testament to faith, commitment, and service. Your lives are a sweet fragrance of gratitude to God and a blessing to humanity. I pray that the Lord continues to bless you both with peace, joy, and good health in the many well-deserved years ahead. May the seeds you have faithfully sown over these decades continue to bear fruit for generations to come.

For 41 years, Reverend Richard and Lady Rejoice Buafor have not merely been married, they have been a unified force in ministry. Theirs is a story of two hearts beating as one for the purpose of God’s kingdom. I deliberately choose the phrase “partnership in life and ministry” because it perfectly captures the sacred essence of their union, rooted in enduring love. They have stood together not only as husband and wife but as fellow laborers in the vineyard, supporting each other through trials and rejoicing in triumphs. Their legacy as prefects of The Lord’s Pentecostal Church International is forever forged in this beautiful partnership.

In their venerable duties as “gospel scientists and engineers,” their calling was never about mere numbers but about refreshing the spirits of Christian couples through pastoral counseling, meeting the tangible needs of the poor, nurturing new generations of believers, and ensuring that the body of Christ remains strong, vibrant, and growing. Their ministry has been and continues to be a living source of renewal.

One of Apostle Dr. Richard Amegbor Buafor’s most noble sermons, preached on April 13, 1987, entitled “Treasures in Earthen Vessels” (2 Corinthians 4:7), perfectly reflects their tradition of life and service. That message acknowledged that their power, grace, and impact did not come from human strength but from the surpassing power of God working through them. Brother Richard and Sister Rejoice, like all great servants of God, are “earthen vessels” human, fragile, and humble yet within them, they carried the immense treasure of the Gospel, the Holy Spirit, and God’s love, which has shone forth to save souls and strengthen the church.
As their son, brother, priest, and chief, I honor their humility and tireless service to God, while glorifying the Almighty for the power He has manifested through their lives.
I love my Pastor, whose tailored coats I once wore and whose car I proudly drove to impress others when I was only 22 years old. I love my Mother, who ensured that no woman distracted my anointing with lust, teaching me gentlemanship in Christ. Truly, I owe you both everything I am today.
Hurray! Happy 41st Anniversary!
With love and honor,
Venerable Dr. Nathaniel Nii Naate Atswele Agbo Nartey, Ph.D., B.Psy., D.D.
