The Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim, Hon. Owen Kwame Frimpong, has put forward a visionary proposal aimed at deepening the bond between the people of Lower West Akim Constituency and the Government of Japan. According to the MP, forging stronger ties with Japan will not only boost development in the constituency but also open doors for cultural exchange, economic empowerment, and infrastructural growth.

Hon. Frimpong emphasized that Japan has consistently proven itself as a reliable partner in Africa, with decades of investment in education, healthcare, energy, and technology transfer. He stated that Lower West Akim, like many other constituencies in Ghana, stands to benefit significantly if strategic cooperation with Japan is formalized.

*Areas of Proposed Cooperation*

The MP outlined several key sectors where cooperation could be strengthened:

1. Education and Skills Training

Hon. Frimpong proposed scholarship schemes for students in Lower West Akim to study in Japan, especially in science, engineering, and technology-related fields. He also called for exchange programs between schools in Japan and Lower West Akim to enhance knowledge sharing.

The MP appealed to Japan to partner in upgrading healthcare facilities within the constituency. He pointed to the need for modern medical equipment, community health programs, and sanitation projects to improve the overall well-being of residents.

4. Infrastructure and Technology

Hon. Frimpong stressed the importance of technology transfer and infrastructural development, particularly in road networks, renewable energy, and digital transformation. He suggested that Japanese expertise in these areas could transform Lower West Akim into a model constituency for sustainable development.

*Building People-to-People Diplomacy*

Beyond development, the MP also encouraged cultural cooperation. He noted that strengthening cultural ties, such as student exchange programs, sports collaborations, and art festivals, would promote mutual respect and lasting friendship between the people of Japan and Lower West Akim.
