National Security Declares Demolition Site, a Security Zone, Picks Up Three Senior Officials of McDan Group of Companies

Three senior officials of the McDan Group have reportedly been picked up by National Security operatives following the demolition of a warehouse under construction along the Spintex Road in Accra. The area has been declared a security zone by the national security but the big question is, why is the action chapel and other companies in that same area operating freely but McDan’s warehouse can’t? Or the said “security zone” only affects McDan’s warehouse?

News sources confirm that the officials were taken into custody shortly after the incident, which took place at a site now designated a “National Security Zone” by personnel stationed there.

The partially constructed warehouse is believed to be linked to prominent businessman Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan. Details surrounding the demolition remain unclear.

Earlier on Wednesday, tensions escalated at the site when armed military personnel were seen assaulting a bystander who was granting an interview to a JoyNews reporter.

Reports also indicate that JoyNews journalist Carlos Calony was picked up by National Security operatives while covering the aftermath of the demolition. The circumstances of his arrest remain unknown.

The McDan Group is expected to issue an official statement on the matter in due course.
