Chief of Staff Julius Debrah Pays Working Visit to GoldBod, Commends Staff

The Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, has paid a significant working visit to Gold Board (GoldBod), a key agency responsible for regulating gold exports, curbing smuggling, and enhancing the country’s revenue from artisanal and small-scale mining.

During his visit, Mr. Debrah toured the facility, engaging with management and frontline staff, and received comprehensive briefings on GoldBod’s current operations, notable achievements, and challenges.

He expressed the government’s profound appreciation for the critical role the organization plays in promoting transparency, regulation, and value addition in Ghana’s gold trade.

The visit, which comes barely two days after President John Mahama officially inaugurated the GoldBod task force to help clamp down on the activities of gold smugglers across the country, underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening the institution’s mandate and operational capacity.

Mr. Debrah encouraged the staff to continue working with unrelenting professionalism and integrity, assuring them of the government’s unflinching support.

He also extended his best wishes to the team and urged them to remain laser-focused on their mission of safeguarding Ghana’s gold industry for future generations.
