Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reiterated his unwavering pledge to unlocking the latent potential of Ghana’s youth through sports.
Emphasizing the profound impact of athletics on nation-building and social cohesion, Hon. Debrah underscored Ghana’s abundance of untapped talent, particularly in rural and peri-urban areas.
According to Hon. Debrah, President Mahama’s visionary leadership is driven by an unshakeable conviction to empower every young Ghanaian, regardless of background, to ascend to greatness.
“In every forgotten corner of our country, there is a young dream waiting to be discovered,” Hon. Debrah declared. “President John Mahama’s vision is crystal clear: to hunt talent from the grassroots and give it wings to soar. I stand with that vision, not from the sidelines, but at the very epicenter of it.”
A cutting-edge national program, spearheaded by the Presidential Special Initiative, is poised to be launched, aimed at scouting, developing, and supporting sports talents in all 275 constituencies across Ghana.
Reflecting on the recent President’s Cup, Hon. Debrah noted that the fervent passion, thunderous cheers, and nostalgic memories it evoked nationwide reaffirmed the imperative of investing in sports as a catalyst for social and national development.
“Let us find the next champion, the next leader, the next story of hope from the streets of our constituencies to the world stage,” he exhorted. Hon. Debrah implored all stakeholders, including public servants, private sector leaders, influencers, and the media, to join forces in this noble endeavor, imbuing the next generation with hope and confidence.
