The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested three former officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in connection with ongoing investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses linked to contracts between the GRA and Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) for revenue assurance services.

The arrested individuals are:

– *Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah*, former Commissioner-General of the GRA

– *Dr. Isaac Crentsil*, former Commissioner of Customs at GRA and current General Manager at SML

– *Christian Tetteh Sottie*, former Technical Advisor to the GRA Commissioner-General and current MD/CEO of SML

The OSP is investigating the contractual arrangements between GRA and SML, including claims that SML’s services have been saving the nation significant revenues. The three former GRA officials were detained after failing to meet bail conditions .

According to reports, the investigation was prompted by a complaint filed by The Fourth Estate, a project of the Media Foundation for West Africa, alleging possible corruption and breaches of the Public Procurement Act in respect of the contractual arrangements between GRA and SML.

The OSP’s probe seeks to verify the legitimacy of the contracts and determine whether state officials were complicit in any corrupt activities. The arrests are part of the OSP’s efforts to crack down on corruption and ensure accountability in government contracting.
