
Hundreds of Ghanaian fashion lovers and exhibitors, last Thursday, thronged the Legon City Mall in Accra for the third edition of the fast-growing Kaba and Slit Festival.
Dubbed the Duku (Scarf) Edition, the event saw a rich display of the traditional kaba and slit outfit, accompanied with colourful scarfs amidst music, dance and fanfare.
Organised by Ruuts Africa Style Ltd, the event also witnessed fire education and demonstration,
mental health advocacy and talk on ‘healing in sisterhood’-a call for women to support one another, runway modeling, as well as complete lyrics show.

It was an exciting day for women, both young and old, as they expressed their beauty and elegance in traditional outfits.
Speaking to the media, after the event, the Founder of the event, Mrs Deborah Kabutey-Djisah, popularly known as Manye Korngo, expressed delight to patrons and team for their efforts in holding yet another successful festival.
“As Ghanaians and Africans, we need to constantly showcase our uniqueness in different ways, and Kaba and Slit is one of such,” she stated.
“This festival has come to stay and we are happy that young people, especially, are getting involved as it would help in the promotion of Ghanaian culture and patriotism,” she added.
He called on the government and private organisations to come on board for the next edition which is expected to be bigger and better.
