Pitch invader at Ghana-Chad game sentenced to 100 days in prison

A 21-year-old football fan, Mohammed Huzeinu, has been sentenced to 100 days in prison by an Accra District Court for invading the pitch during Ghana’s match against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2022.

Huzeinu’s actions disrupted the game, potentially exposing the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to financial penalties.

Pitch invasions are considered a serious security breach and interfere with the smooth running of matches.

The court’s ruling serves as a strong warning to fans to respect stadium regulations and maintain order during games.

The GFA has consistently urged supporters to adhere to match-day protocols to avoid sanctions and protect Ghana’s reputation in international football.
