Prudential Life Insurance provides $100 ,000 in items and sanitation facilities to inhabitants of Chorkor

United Way Ghana and Prudential Life Insurance Ghana have teamed up to promote environmental sustainability and safety in Ghanaian communities.

Their partnership, dubbed “Pru Climate Action,” aims to educate students and community members on the importance of protecting the environment, particularly in coastal areas like Chorkor.

The initiative has several key objectives:- Constructing a 20-seater washroom facility for local schools.

Building 100 bio-digestive toilets to combat open defecation.

Enrolling 300 community members in the national health insurance scheme

A year-long advocacy campaign to promote environmental sustainability and safety.

The partnership is backed by $100,000 and will be a yearly affair. The initiative has received praise from community leaders, including Madam Georgina Rabbles, Circuit Supervisor of the Chemunaa Sub-Metro District Education Service, and Dr. Louisa Matey, Director for Sub-Metro of the Ghana Health Service.Other stakeholders, such as the Queen of Chorkor, Naa Adorkor Gyamfi 1, have also expressed gratitude for the initiative and pledged to put the donated items to good use. The partnership has donated essential items, including shovels, hand wash stations, dustbins, and brooms, to support the community’s sanitation efforts.

This collaboration is part of United Way Ghana’s broader efforts to promote education, health, and economic empowerment in Ghanaian communities. Their work has been recognized through various awards and partnerships, including their collaboration with Prudential Life Insurance Ghana to improve literacy and mentorship in schools.
