There was turmoil at Swedru Hospital after a motorcycle accident took place at Agona Nyansakyere in the Agona East District.

The crash claimed the life of one Okada rider, while two others, including another rider and a passenger, were left in critical condition.

It is reported that the accident occurred when one rider, who was carrying a passenger, was heading from Agona K.T.K to Agona Kwanyarko, while the other was traveling in the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses reported that both riders were speeding, and a power outage in the area might have contributed to the collision.

Following the accident, the victims were promptly rushed to Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital for medical care.

Upon hearing that one of the Okada riders had died, a group of his colleagues rushed to the hospital, where they assaulted medical staff and vandalized equipment in a rage.

Ishmael Odoom, the Assemblyman for the Agona Asafo Electoral Area, stated that some of the Okada riders slapped a doctor on duty, chased away nurses, smashed their phones, and damaged computers in the facility.

Mr. Odoom denounced the violent behavior of the Okada riders, asserting that such actions are unacceptable and need to be addressed by law enforcement.

He also pointed out that the accident could have been avoided if the riders had been more responsible while on the road.
